Why We Exclusively Use Paul Mitchell Products

John Paul Mitchell Systems (JPMS) started with humble beginnings in 1980. John Paul DeJoria and Paul Mitchell formed the company with only $700, even opting for black and white bottles to save money on expensive 3-color printing. The team wanted their products to be organic without using chemicals, while still producing superior results. The goal was to make the world healthier and more beautiful, one head of hair at a time.

In 1983 the duo established a self-sustaining “Awapuhi Farm” in Hawaii to ensure organic quality in every bottle. In 1989 Paul Mitchell lost his battle with pancreatic cancer, and as per his wishes the company promised to never forget its roots and their vision.

Today, the company continues to grow its own Awapuhi Crop in Hawaii and now owns the Tea Tree Brand as well. The company owns the largest chain of cosmetology beauty schools in the country and in the last 14-years cosmetology students have helped raise over $18-million for charities through hair shows, cut-a-thons and even car wash fundraisers.
